RV campground on the Strait of Juan de Fuca near Port Angeles with world-class tidepools at Tongue Point and views of Vancouver Island.
Salt Creek Recreation Area is a 196-acre county park perched above the Strait of Juan de Fuca, 15 miles west of Port Angeles. The 39 water-and-electric RV sites sit in an open meadow with sweeping views of the Strait and Vancouver Island.
The park's star attraction is Tongue Point Marine Life Sanctuary, one of Washington's premier tidepooling destinations. At low tide, sea stars, anemones, crabs, and mussels fill the rocky intertidal zone. History is on display too with intact WWII concrete gun emplacements guarding the bluff. The Striped Peak Loop trail (6.4 mi, 1,545 ft gain) rewards hikers with panoramic Olympic Peninsula coastal views.
Olympic National Park wilderness begins just south of the campground. The Tongue Point Marine Life Sanctuary offers some of Washington's best tidepooling. Views across the Strait of Juan de Fuca reach Vancouver Island, Canada.

Utility sites 1-39 have paved pads with water and electric hookups and open views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca; these accommodate larger rigs up to ~40 ft. The non-hookup sites (40-92) are more forested and private but are limited to shorter rigs around 25 ft. Sites with bluff-facing positions offer the best water and Vancouver Island views.
