Washington State Parks — built for exploration

Curlew Lake sits in the forested highlands of Ferry County in northeast Washington, where recovering ponderosa pine and mixed conifer forest provides habitat for an exceptional diversity of cavity-nesting birds and large carnivores. The surrounding Colville National Forest and Colville Indian Reservation lands are at the heart of Washington's wolf recovery zone, with multiple wolf packs now ranging through the forested highlands within a few miles of the lake. Republic — 7 miles south — is home to the Stonerose Interpretive Center where the public can excavate 50-million-year-old Eocene fossils including the ancient rose species that gave the town its name, making this area a destination for both natural history and hands-on science.

🗺️

Waterfront loop sites (1–30) are the first to fill. The 80-foot dock is excellent for fishing — tiger muskie and rainbow trout are the main targets. Hookup sites in Loop B are comfortable for longer visits. Bald eagles and osprey patrol the shoreline daily, making this one of the best wildlife-watching parks in eastern WA. Very peaceful compared to the Columbia River parks; a good choice for quieter experiences.
